PIKEVILLE — Trey Rudd has been named the University of Pikeville’s Offensive Scout Player of the Week.
Rudd is a Magoffin County High School graduate. He is a freshman tight end for the University of Pikeville football team.
MCHS Head Coach John DeRossett was quick to compliment Rudd after hearing of him being honored.
“First of all, Trey is an outstanding young man,” said DeRossett. “I don’t recall him ever missing a workout or practice. He worked hard over the summer to get ready for his freshman year at UPIKE. It tells you a lot about his work ethic being scout team player of the week. He comes back quite often and visits with us. Trey is an outstanding role model for all the young football players in our community. Show up every day, work hard, and it pays off. I look forward to more big things at UPIKE for Trey, on the field and in the classroom.”
Slim Chickens, which is located at 145 S. Mayo Trail in Pikeville, sponsors the weekly award Rudd received.
