SALYERSVILLE — Making his college choice official, Magoffin County High School senior Trey Rudd signed with the University of Pikeville football program during a ceremony held at MCHS on Friday, March 14.
Rudd was among the leaders for Magoffin County during his high school football career, producing on offense, defense and special teams.
As a senior in the 2024 high school football season, Rudd made an impact at various positions. Offensively, Rudd blocked for a Magoffin County unit which rushed 433 times for 2,444 yards and 27 touchdowns. Rudd contributed one rushing touchdown for the Hornets. In addition, showing his ability as a pass catcher, Rudd hauled in multiple receptions.
Defensively, Rudd delivered 27 tackles for the Hornets.
Rudd will be joining former Magoffin County teammate Ian McCarty at Pikeville.
McCarty is a freshman running back for the Bears.
Pikeville was the 2024 Co-Appalachian Athletic Conference Football Champion.
