Sharon Brooks Jenkins, age 73, of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away after a brief illness on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky. Sharon was born in Morgan County, Kentucky on November 21, 1950 to Leander “Bear” and Hala Brooks.
Survivors include her husband Timothy, daughter Brooke (Rod) Jenkins Miller, granddaughters Maggie Arnett and Layla Howard, her father Leander “Bear” Brooks, and mother-in-law Pauline Jenkins, all of Salyersville. Five siblings, Ival (Joe) Helton of West Liberty, Darrell Brooks of West Liberty, Chalvis Brooks of Salyersville, Joy (Acey) Burcham, of Hazel Green, and Marsha Crisp of Hazel Green also survive.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Mindy Jenkins Arnett, granddaughter Mia Howard, and mother Hala Brooks.
Sharon was a member of Lick Branch Enterprise Baptist Church. She loved singing at church and glorifying God with her powerful testimony. Sharon was also a past matron and current secretary of Elkfork Chapter #561 Order of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 26, 2024 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Brothers Chuck Conley, Jimmy Conley, and CJ Tackett officiating. Burial followed in the Jenkins Family Cemetery at Pricey Creek Road, Kentucky.
Eastern Star rites were given on Sunday, February 25, 2024, by the Elkfork Chapter #561 Order of the Eastern Star.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
