PIKEVILLE — Magoffin County High School graduate Zane Whitaker is among the standout student-athletes for the University of Pikeville men’s basketball program.
Whitaker has been named to the UPike Spring 2026 President’s List.
To qualify for the President’s List at UPike, an undergraduate student must maintain a full-time course load and achieve a perfect 4.0 grade point average (GPA) for the semester.
Whitaker is a 6-6 forward for the UPike men’s basketball program. He completed his sophomore season at UPike earlier in the year. It was Whitaker’s first season of college basketball. Previously, Whitaker competed for the UPike men’s swimming team.
The UPike men’s basketball team put together a 3.39 GPA in the spring 2026 semester.
The Bears enjoyed success throughout the 2025-26 men’s college basketball season, compiling a 27-5 record. Head coach Tigh Compton guides the Bears.
