SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is scheduled to visit Knott County Central for its first scrimmage in the high school football preseason on Friday, Aug. 7.
The Magoffin County-Knott County Central scrimmage is slated to start at 7 p.m.
Both Magoffin County and Knott County Central opened preseason practice earlier in the month, following the conclusion of the KHSAA Dead Period.
Magoffin County competes in Class 3A, District 8. The Hornets compiled a 3-7 record in the 2025 high school football season.
Nathan Perkins is preparing to enter his first season as Magoffin County head coach. Prior to being named head coach, Perkins was the offensive coordinator for the Hornets.
Knott County Central competes in Class 2A, District 7. The Patriots put together an 8-3 record in the 2025 high school football season. Knott County Central reached the second round of the 2025 KHSAA Class 3A Football State Playoffs.
