Ethel (Shepherd) Potter, Mullins

Ethel (Shepherd) Potter, Mullins (89) passed away Friday, February 11, 2022, in Cincinnati, OH. Born February 22, 1932, in Prestonsburg, KY, to the late Gold and Grace (Layne) Shepherd.

Ethel is the wife of the late James M. Potter, Sr., Mother of James M. Potter, Jr. (Cheryl) of Blush Ash, OH, Diana Potter Sharp of Riverview, FL, Deborah Potter Kihm (John) of Byrdstown, TN, Kenneth M. Potter, Cincinnati, OH.

Sister of Mary Trimble, Salyersville, KY, Juanita Williamson (Bill), Morehead, KY.

Grandmother of Matt Potter (Lisa), Sherrills Ford, NC, Clayton Ahr (Sarah), Cincinnati, OH, Carrie Davenport, Riverview FL, Dr. Rachel Sneed (Scott), Clarksville, OH, Christina Jeranek (Adam), Loveland OH, Michelle Roth (Ryan), Rosenberg, TX, Elizabeth Gibson (Matt), Cincinnati, OH, Hanna Potter, Blue Ash, OH.

Survived by 15 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her siblings, Harold Shepherd, Gunlock, KY, Frank Shepherd, Gunlock, KY, and Helen Shepherd Klingler, Rexburg, ID.

Married to James Martin Potter (Lloyd Vernon Potter, Rachel Bentley) May 28, 1949, in Pikeville, KY, moving to Cincinnati, OH, in 1950.

Ethel lovingly cared for her family and was a homemaker in Finneytown, OH.

She took employment as a housekeeper, waitress, nurses aide, and then became a nurse.

She spent many years in nursing, caring for geriatric patients, and doing home health care.

Family would like to thank the Staff of Chamberlain Healthcare Facility, Deer Park, OH, for their years of skilled, loving care and kindness.

Family would like to thank the Staff of Queen City Hospice for their skilled and compassionate bedside care of Mrs. Mullins.
She will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Arlington Memorial Gardens in Mt. Healthy, OH.
