SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is scheduled to visit 15th Region counterpart Pikeville for its opener in the 2023 high school softball season on Monday, March 13.
Longtime rivals, Magoffin County and Pikeville did not meet in 2022.
Magoffin County, following a loss to Paintsville in the semifinals of the 57th District Softball Tournament, exited the 2022 season 10-11.
In addition to Pikeville, Magoffin County’s 2023 schedule includes games versus Lawrence County, Morgan County, Bath County, Paintsville, Prestonsburg, Estill County, Johnson Central, Powell County, Rowan County, Knott County Central, Elliott County, North Laurel, Breathitt County, Martin County, Wolfe County and Floyd Central.
One day after visiting Pikeville, Magoffin County is scheduled to host Lawrence County for a home opener on Tuesday, March 14.
Magoffin County is slated to return to Pikeville to participate in the Lyndel Potter Memorial Tournament Friday, April 21-Saturday, April 22.
Prior to making the return trip for the tournament, Magoffin County is due to host Pikeville for a home game on Monday, April 10.
Several experienced players are preparing to compete for Magoffin County in the 2023 high school softball season.
