SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is slated to visit Bell County in the opening round of the KHSAA Class 3A State Playoffs on Friday, Nov. 3.
The Hornets and Bobcats are unfamiliar foes.
Magoffin County finished third behind runner-up Lawrence County and champion Belfry in Class 3A, District 8. The Hornets secured third in Class 3A, District 8 after defeating Estill County 38-19 on Friday, Oct. 20.
Magoffin County is set to host rival Morgan County for its final regular season game on Friday, Oct. 27.
Bell County finished runner-up to Rockcastle County in Class 3A, District 7.
The Bobcats are set to host Harlan County for a regular season finale on Friday, Oct. 27.
The matchups for the opening round of the KHSAA Class 3A State Playoffs are as follows: Magoffin County at Bell County; Adair County at Union County; Hancock County at Franklin-Simpson; Webster County at Hart County; Glasgow at McLean County; Marion County at Christian Academy-Louisville; Elizabethtown at Garrard County; LaRue County at Mercer County; Casey County at Central; West Carter at Lexington Catholic; Bourbon County at Russell; Pendleton County at East Carter; Fleming County at Lloyd Memorial; Estill County at Rockcastle County; Knox Central at Lawrence County and Clay County at Belfry.
The KHSAA has not released the kickoff time for the Magoffin County-Bell County game.
