GRAYSON — Magoffin County High School graduate Holly Handshoe is headed into her junior season with the Kentucky Christian University softball team.
Handshoe is a left-handed pitcher. A native of Salyersville, Handshoe is majoring in counseling psychology.
Excelling in the classroom, Handshoe was named a 2022-23 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.
As a team, Kentucky Christian University (KCU) ranked 23rd on a list of 35 teams for GPA (3.46).
KCU is ranked eighth among 15 teams in the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference Preseason Softball Coaches Poll.
The AAC Tournament is set for April 30-May 3 at the Brickyard Ball Fields in Kingsport, Tenn. The top eight teams will compete in the double-elimination conference tournament.
