DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Herald Whitaker standout Luke Montgomery is an archery world champion.
Montgomery shot a 295 to finish first out of 366 archers in the 2024 NASP Championship IBO 3-D Challenge at the Ocean Center on Saturday, June 8.
A longtime standout, Montgomery placed first out of 143 middle school boys in the tournament. Overall, Montgomery finished second out of 927 boys.
Herald Whitaker finished 17th out of 47 teams in the tournament. As a team, Herald Whitaker amassed a score of 1,577, posting 63 10s.
Montgomery led Herald Whitaker throughout the 2023-24 middle school archery season.
