SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County will host rival Johnson Central for a 57th District volleyball match on Monday, Aug. 19.
The start time for the upcoming 57th District volleyball match is 6 p.m.
The 57th District volleyball match will serve as a season opener for both Magoffin County and visiting Johnson Central.
Magoffin County will be looking to show improvement early in the 2023 high school volleyball season. The Lady Hornets compiled a 5-19 record in 2023.
Johnson Central claimed the 57th District title and the 15th Region championship during the 2023 high school volleyball season. Following a loss in the opening round of the KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament, Johnson Central exited the 2023 season 29-5.
Johnson Central is fresh off its best season ever.
Magoffin County and Johnson Central each opened preseason practice in July.
Magoffin County has regular season matches scheduled versus Johnson Central, Hazard, Jackson City, Lawrence County, June Buchanan, Prestonsburg, Pike County Central, Letcher County Central, Martin County, Menifee County, Paris, Robertson County, Nicholas County, Paintsville, Perry County Central, Morgan County and Estill County.
