SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is scheduled to host a pair of opponents during the opening week of the 2024 high school volleyball season.
The Lady Hornets are slated to host 57th District rival Johnson Central for a season opener at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.
Johnson Central is the reigning 15th Region champion.
Magoffin County is slated to visit Hazard for its second match in the 2024 high school volleyball season on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
Returning home, Magoffin County is scheduled to host Jackson City for its home opener on Thursday, Aug. 22.
Magoffin County opened preseason practice in July. New head coach Andrea Preston is guiding the Lady Hornets.
Magoffin County’s 2024 schedule includes matches versus Johnson Central, Hazard, Jackson City, Lawrence County, June Buchanan, Prestonsburg, Pike County Central, Letcher County Central, Martin County, Menifee County, Paris, Robertson County, Nicholas County, Paintsville, Lee County, Perry County Central, Morgan County and Estill County.
The Lady Hornets are scheduled to host Letcher County Central in the Class 2A, Section 8 Volleyball Tournament on Monday, Sept. 9.
High school volleyball teams across the state will be on courts for season openers Monday, Aug. 19.
