Bessie Mae Risner

Bessie Mae Risner, a dearly loved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her most.

Bessie was a precious child of the King. She loved her Lord and Savior, and she is now home with Him, where she is at peace and free from pain. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is resting safely in the loving arms of her Savior.

Bessie loved her family dearly and found so much joy in the people she loved.

She will be remembered for her gentle heart, kindness, strength, faith, and the love she so freely gave to others.

Bessie was the devoted wife of James David Risner, her husband of 52 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Collista Allen and son-in-law Kevin Allen; her son, Rex Davery Risner and daughter-in-law Ashley Risner; along with many beloved sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rex Helton; her mother, Virginia Helton Prater; and her brother, Tex Helton.

Bessie’s husband and children share her faith in Christ and find comfort in the promise that this is not goodbye forever. They hold close to their hearts the hope that, through their faith in Jesus, they will see her again one day.

Her love, faith, and memory will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.

A private burial was held.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
