SALYERSVILLE – Catcher Erin Bolen has wrapped up her sophomore season with the University of Pikeville softball program.
A Magoffin County High School graduate, Bolen appeared in 25 games for the Bears during the 2021 high school softball season, logging 19 starts.
Bolen batted .222 with 12 hits, five runs, two doubles, one home RBI and four RBIs in the 2021 college softball campaign.
A standout in the classroom, Bolen was among 18 student-athletes from the University of Pikeville softball program named to the Mid-South Conference All-Academic Team. UPIKE featured the second-highest number on the list behind the University of the Cumberlands, which had 19 honorees.
The UPIKE softball team concluded the 2021 college softball season 13-29. The Bears compiled a 4-22 Mid-South Conference record.
Bolen will be among the most experienced players for the UPIKE softball team in the 2022 college softball season.
UPIKE is scheduled to open the 2022 college softball season in February.
