Della Fay Salyer Howard

Della Fay Salyer Howard age 80 of Salyersville, Kentucky, left this world on June 22, 2021, from natural causes.

Della Fay Howard was born on July 19, 1940, in Painters Lick, Kentucky. She was married to the late John Hardy Howard of Lick Creek, Kentucky. Della was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved to cook and enjoyed attending and watch church services.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, John Hardy Howard. Her father, Earl B. Salyer. Her mother, Oma Pennington Salyer. Two brothers, Marvin Saylor and Melvin Saylor. One sister, Emily M. Salyer. One grandson, Jerry Wayne Collins.

She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Michael Howard, John Wayne Howard, Edith Howard Wilson, Carolin Howard, Mary Jo Howard, Sherry Howard Connelley, and Shelia Howard Gambill. Two brothers, Troy Salyer and Roy Salyer. Five sisters, Edna Mae Fultz, Mary Stacey, Imigean Fultz, Jodie Isaacs and Reva Hamilton. Thirteen grandchildren, Dwayne Howard, Darren Howard, John Tyler Collins, Jahazia Burns, Brandon Howard, Jeffery Neal Fletcher, Mikia Jo Lemaster, Brandy Ann Howard, Tyler Brock Gambill, Codee Blake Tackett, Courtney Dawn Gambill, Shelby Lynn Arrowood, Madison Taylor Bolen, twelve great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins that will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 26, 2021, from the Faith Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in the Hardy Howard Cemetery at Lick Creek, Kentucky. Friends may visit the church Thursday, June 24, 2021, after 6:00 P.M. all day Friday, June 25, 2021, and any time prior till funeral services on Saturday.
