WEST LIBERTY – The Morgan Circuit Court Grand Jury recently handed down 30 indictments of 29 individuals, including that of a local woman on a manslaughter charge.

Terri J. Lewis, 38, of West Liberty, was charged with second-degree manslaughter in the death of Justin Arnett, 29, of Salyersville, who died in an Oct. 31, 2020, automobile collision in which Lewis was driving.

The Courier reported last year that the incident occurred on Hwy. 203 near the Wolfe County line as Lewis was traveling north in a 2007 Pontiac Gran Prix that left the roadway and struck a tree.
Arnett – who was a passenger in Lewis’s vehicle – was pronounced dead shortly thereafter by Coroner Raymond Vancleave.

Lewis’s indictment alleges that she was under the influence of alcohol and/or at the time of the crash.

Editor’s Note: The indictment or charge of a person by a grand jury or otherwise is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
