Hager Minix, age eighty, of Oakley Road, Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away at home on November 18, 2023, after succumbing to cancer. Hager was born on August 1, 1943, at Tip Top Coal Camp, Kentucky to the late Clyde Minix and Icie Rowe Minix.
Hager is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Brenda Watson Minix; his daughters, Lynn Minix Blanton and Janelle (Ronnie) Lovely; his siblings, Charlotte Jackson, Iris Brown, and Doyle (Marcella) Minix; his sister-in-law, Olivia Cole Minix; his grandchildren, Dalton Howard of Knoxville, Tennessee, Cambridge Minix of Salyersville, Shanna Howard of Lexington, Kentucky, Kendell Hagen Blanton of Salyersville, Shay Blanton of Richmond, Kentucky, and Lindsey (Matt) Tackett and Logan Lovely of Salyersville; his great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Sophia Tackett; and other family and friends too numerous to name individually.
Hager is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Icie Minix; his son, Philip Minix; and his siblings, Joyce Davis, Helen Mulholland, Alvis Minix, Lester Minix, Harold Minix, Donald Minix, and Dorseanne Davis.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Justin Williams officiating. Burial followed at the Salyer-Watson Cemetery on Oakley Road, Salyersville, Kentucky.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
