SALYERSVILLE – One person is facing charges after a head-on collision that occurred on Parkway Drive Friday, November 6.
According to officials, a black pickup truck was traveling toward the Mountain Parkway and was slowed down to turn into the Hardin Plaza when a gray pickup truck traveling toward downtown Salyersville crossed the center lane and into the opposite lane, hitting the black truck head-on. The impact of the collision knocked the black truck back across all three lanes and off the roadway.
The driver of the black truck was wearing a seatbelt and avoided serious injury, but all three people involved, the two drivers and the passenger in the gray truck, were taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Kentucky State Police cited the driver of the gray truck, identified as Sasha Noel Sandlin. Sandlin is scheduled for an arraignment on November 16 in Magoffin County District Court, facing the charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first offense (aggravating circumstance); possession of marijuana; failure to produce insurance card; reckless driving; and drug paraphernalia, buy/possess.
