PIPPA PASSES – Returning to the win column on the road, Magoffin County blanked June Buchanan 3-0 in a high school volleyball match on Monday, Oct. 11.
The Hornets won 25-19, 25-17, 25-13 over June Buchanan.
Makenna Jordan (4 kills, 2 digs, 5 service aces), Carley Allen (10 digs, 3 service aces), Carlee Adams (7 digs), Mackenzie Elkins (9 digs, 5 service aces), Nora Howard (7 digs), Jaden Williams (4 assists, 11 digs, 2 service aces), Allie Rodriguez (2 digs, 4 service aces), McKenzie Young (6 kills, 1 block, 5 digs, 7 service aces), Maddie Auxier (8 assists, 3 digs), Mackenzie Bailey (5 digs) and Macie Arnett (2 kills, 1 dig) each contributed for Magoffin County in the shutout win.
Magoffin County returned to the win column after suffering three straight losses to June Buchanan, Martin County and Betsy Layne. June Buchanan upended Magoffin County 3-1 in a match in Salyersville one week earlier on Monday, Oct. 4, beating the Hornets 25-23, 17-25, 25-23, 25-19.
The Hornets are slated to compete in the 57th District Volleyball Tournament in less than one week.
