SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County pushed across nearly a dozen runs but fell short as familiar foe Morgan County prevailed 15-11 in a high school baseball game on Friday, April 22.
Longtime rivals Magoffin County and Morgan County met for the first time in the 2022 high school baseball season.
Morgan County competes in the neighboring 16th Region.
Magoffin County experienced its second straight setback. Following the loss to visiting Morgan County, Magoffin County dropped to 3-15.
Magoffin County entered the week with regular season games remaining versus Paintsville, Bluegrass United, Knott County Central, Floyd Central, Johnson Central, Elliott County, North Laurel, Leslie County, Powell County, Betsy Layne and Belfry.
The Hornets opened the 2022 high school baseball season in mid-March. Magoffin County is slated to enter the postseason in late-May.
