SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County showed much improvement in the 2026 high school baseball season.
The Hornets, under the direction of Coach Gabe Burchell, registered 10 wins in their latest campaign.
Magoffin County reached double digits in wins for the first time since 2021.
The Hornets put together a five-game winning streak during the first half of the 2026 high school baseball season. After competing in the 57th District Baseball Tournament, Magoffin County exited the 2026 high school baseball season with a 10-14 record.
Numerous players contributed to Magoffin County’s success in the 2026 high school baseball season.
Freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors were all productive for the Hornets. Brayden Bailey, Isaac Howard, Mason Peck, Aden Montgomery, Evan Reed, Michael Trusty, Aiden Carty, Chance Risner, Brayden Carroll, Gavin Arnett, Parker Bowling, Brody Emory, Hunter Arnett, Carter Whitaker, Noah Gibson, William Jarrell, Nick Hall, Dason Burchett, Chase Perkins, Isaac Yates and Chase Dyer were each active for Magoffin County in the 2026 high school baseball season.
Magoffin County is a high school baseball program on the rise. After competing in the high school baseball postseason, Magoffin County is looking ahead to the next campaign. Magoffin County has turned its focus to the 2027 high school baseball season.
