PIKEVILLE — Magoffin County turned in an overall score of 3,287 to win the Panther Winter Tournament at Pikeville High School on Saturday, Jan. 14.
Chance Gipson led the Hornets to the team championship. Individually for Magoffin County, Gipson and Chloe Skaggs each recorded first-place finishes. Gipson shot a personal best 294 to prevail in the male division, finishing first out of 41 archers. Skaggs shot 282 to win the female division, placing first out of 56 competitors.
In addition to Magoffin County, high school teams competing in the Panther Winter Tournament included David, Shelby Valley, Piarist and Pike County Central.

Male: 1st-Chance Gipson, 2nd-Blake Collinsworth, 3rd-Landon Collinsworth.
Female: 1st-Chloe Skaggs, 2nd-Kaylee Brown, 3rd-Samantha Wheatley, 5th-Brittney Carty.
