SALYERSVILLE — Recording its second straight shutout, Magoffin County blanked Prestonsburg 10-0 in five innings on Tuesday, April 4.
Jaden Williams pitched a two-hit shutout to lead Magoffin County to the win. Williams allowed only one walk while registering 10 strikeouts.
Prestonsburg pitcher Kaylee Hackworth suffered the loss in the circle.
Magoffin County scored 10 runs on 14 hits. Williams (two hits, two RBIs), Katie Howard (four hits, two RBIs), Jaylynn Lafferty (three hits, three RBIs), Katie Carty (two hits), Rylie Castle (one hit, one RBI), Makenna Jordan (one hit) and Abby Barnett (one hit) each delivered at the plate for Magoffin County in the shutout win.
Both Howard and Lafferty doubled for the Lady Hornets.
Magoffin County is scheduled to visit Prestonsburg in the second half of the 2023 high school softball season on Saturday, May 6.
