Lady Hornets shut out Knott County Central, 16-0

HINDMAN — Returning to the win column, Magoffin County shut out host Knott Central 16-0 in four innings on Monday, April 3.

Magoffin County pitcher Jaden Williams earned the win in the circle. Williams pitched a two-hit shutout, recording six strikeouts in four innings.

Magoffin County thrived at the plate, scoring 16 runs on 12 hits. Williams (two hits, four RBIs), Abby Barnett (three hits, three RBIs), Rylie Castle (three hits, one RBI), Katie Howard (one hit, two RBIs), Jaylynn Lafferty (one hit, one RBI), Kayleigh Lemaster (one hit, one RBI) and Daylin Patrick (one hit, one RBI) each produced at the plate for Magoffin County in the shutout win.

Castle scored three runs for Magoffin County while Katie Carty and Kayda Carr crossed home plate three times apiece.

Barnett homered for Magoffin County in the win.

Providing speed on the basepaths, Howard legged out a triple.

Magoffin County is scheduled to host Knott County Central on Thursday, April 27.
