SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is headed into the girls’ high school basketball postseason.
The Lady Hornets are poised to compete in the 57th District Girls’ Basketball Tournament at Johnson Central.
The 57th District Girls’ Basketball Tournament is scheduled to tip off at Johnson Central on Monday, Feb. 23.
Magoffin County will enter the 57th District Girls’ Basketball Tournament seeded fourth. The Lady Hornets will meet number one seed Johnson Central in the semifinals of the 57th District Girls’ Basketball Tournament on Monday, Feb. 23.
Johnson Central swept Magoffin County in the two teams’ regular season series. However, Magoffin County remains a team on the rise.
The Lady Eagles compiled a 6-0 57th District record.
The Lady Hornets finished 0-6 in the 57th District.
Paintsville and Martin County will meet in the other game during the semifinals of the 57th District Girls’ Basketball Tournament. Paintsville is the number two seed while Martin County is seeded third.
The Lady Tigers compiled a 4-2 57th District record.
The Lady Cardinals finished 2-4 in the 57th District.
Johnson Central is the defending 57th District girls’ basketball champion.
