Lafferty commits to Hanover College

SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County senior tight end/running back/defensive end/linebacker Ben Lafferty has committed to Hanover College.

Lafferty helped to lead the Hornets throughout the 2022 high school football season, rushing 90 times for 676 yards and six touchdowns. Producing as both a rusher and a receiver, Lafferty hauled in six receptions for 138 yards and two touchdowns.

A two-way standout for Magoffin County, Lafferty delivered offensively and defensively. Lafferty recorded 72 tackles, four tackles for losses and three sacks during the 2022 high school football season.

Lafferty has competed in football, basketball and track and field during his high school career. A standout student-athlete, Lafferty averaged 11.3 points and 6.5 rebounds for Magoffin County during the 2022-23 boys’ basketball season.

Hanover competes in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC). In addition to Hanover, the HCAC includes Mount St. Joseph, Rose-Hulman, Franklin, Defiance, Bluffton, Anderson and Manchester. Located in Indiana, Hanover is a perennial conference title contender.
