Litteral claims second win

BOWLING GREEN — Western Kentucky University sophomore pitcher Lucas Litteral claimed his second win in the 2024 college baseball season on Friday, March 29.

Litteral, a Magoffin County High School graduate, helped to lead the Hilltoppers past visiting Jacksonville State 5-4 in a Conference USA game at Rudy Abbott Field at Jim Case Stadium.

The Hilltoppers improved to 18-10 overall and 3-2 in Conference USA after securing the victory over Jacksonville State.

In five innings of work, WKU relievers tallied nine strikeouts while allowing only one run on six hits. Litteral recorded two strikeouts in two innings while allowing two hits and holding Jacksonville State scoreless.

Prior to coming to WKU, Litteral played one season at Rend Lake College. He started all of his 13 appearances on the mound for the junior college team. The Magoffin County High School product compiled an 8-3 record and pitched three complete games in his lone season on the juco level.

Litteral put together a 2.91 ERA in 80.1 innings. He recorded 102 strikeouts while allowing 31 walks and 25 earned runs.

Litteral excelled throughout his prep career at Magoffin County High School, earning numerous honors. He logged 121 strikeouts for the Hornets in his senior campaign.
