SALYERSVILLE — Notching its fourth straight win, Magoffin County pushed past visiting Pikeville 8-5 on Monday, April 10.
Familiar foes, Magoffin County and Pikeville met for a matchup between two former 15th Region champions.
With the win, Magoffin County moved to 7-3.
Magoffin County pitcher Jaden Williams earned the win in the circle. Williams pitched a complete game, allowing only two earned runs on eight hits while recording six strikeouts.
Helping her pitching cause at the plate, Williams hit a home run and supplied five RBIs.
In addition to Williams delivering offensively, Jaylynn Lafferty (two hits, two RBIs), Rylie Castle (two hits), Katie Carty (two hits), Kiley Lemaster (two hits), Katie Howard (one hit, one RBI) and Kayleigh Lemaster (one hit) each connected at the plate for Magoffin County in the win.
Both Castle and Kiley Lemaster doubled for Magoffin County in the win.
Magoffin County defeated 15th Region counterpart Pikeville for the second time in the 2023 high school softball season.
