Magoffin County slated to visit KCC

Magoffin County is scheduled to visit perennial 14th Region title contender Knott County Central for an early-season high school baseball game on Friday, April 2.

SALYERSVILLE – Magoffin County is scheduled to visit perennial 14th Region title contender Knott County Central for an early-season high school baseball game on Friday, April 2.

First pitch for the Magoffin County-Knott County Central baseball game is set for 6 p.m. in Hindman.

The Hornets, under the direction of first-year head coach Jacob Litteral, defeated host Floyd Central 6-1 in a high school baseball season opener on Monday, March 20. Magoffin County dominated during its 2021 debut.

The Patriots are due to host Magoffin County for a season opener. Multiple members of the Knott County Central baseball team remained with the KCC boys’ basketball program earlier in the week. Knott County Central captured the 14th Region boys’ basketball title.

Teams from throughout the state are competing after the 2020 high school baseball season was canceled due to COVID-19.

Magoffin County’s 2021 regular season schedule includes games versus Floyd Central, Knott County Central, Breathitt County, Belfry, Morgan County, Betsy Layne, Phelps, Letcher County Central, Paintsville, Menifee County, Johnson Central, Martin County, Shelby Valley, Prestonsburg and Robertson County.
