Man accused of not paying for gas multiple times

SALYERSVILLE – A Salyersville man was arrested last week after driving off without paying for gas on numerous occasions.

According to the warrant, Denny Howard, 33, of Salyersville, reportedly had been getting gasoline and driving off without paying at VIP Fuels on at least four separate occasions, from April 25 through May 18, with the incidents witnessed by employees, as well as recorded on surveillance cameras. In total, he drove off with gas totaled at $148.77, making no attempt to pay either time.

The warrant was executed on Wednesday, May 26, and he was taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, where he remains at press time, facing the charge of theft by unlawful taking, gasoline, under $500.

An arraignment was scheduled for Wednesday morning, though the results of the hearing are unknown at press time.
