MCHS announces Meadows’ departure

SALYERSVILLE – The Magoffin County High School announced the upcoming departure of Principal Chris Meadows this week.

On Monday, the high school posted online the following:
MCHS is announcing the departure of Mr. Chris Meadows as our principal.

Mr. Meadows is leaving MCHS to assume the duties as Director of Federal Programs for Magoffin County Schools.

While we are sad to see him go, we are excited for the new opportunities that await him in his new position.

When asked about his tenure at MCHS, Mr. Meadows had these words:

“MCHS has been my place of work for the past twenty-two years. I have never worked anywhere else. Over the years, I have had the privilege of holding three positions here: teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Each of these jobs were different in their own way but I enjoyed them all.
While I look forward to learning and working in a new capacity, leaving is not easy. The hardest part of leaving is leaving the people. I have enjoyed working with the students, staff, and parents. I am thankful for the support that I have been shown throughout the years.”

Thank you, Mr. Meadows for the time and dedication that you have shown the students and staff of Magoffin County High School.

The MCHS site based decision making council will meet in the near future to begin the selection process for our new principal.
