Orville Gene Back, age 89 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, June 25, 2021, at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky. He was born August 25, 1931, in Jackson, Kentucky to the late Marlin and Bessie Roark Back.
Survived by one son, Don (Cheryl) Bach of Palmetto, Florida, two daughters, Pamela Jean (Gary) Gullett of Salyersville, Kentucky, Deadorah (Donnie) Bowen of Hager Hill, Kentucky, one brother, Melvin (Joyce) Back of Venice, Florida, five grandchildren, Brandy Lain, Crystal Billiter, Tiffany Skaggs, Joshua Gullett, Rachel Madison, four great grandchildren, Calab Sexton, Cooper Billiter, Cole Skaggs, Holden Skaggs, and special companion, Buttons.
In addition to his parents, Gene is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Taulbee Back, by two sons, Odis Gene Bach, Rickie Lynn Bach, two daughters, Deborah Ann Bach, Anna Lou Bach, several brothers, and sisters.
Gene was a dedicated member of the New Life Worship Center. By trade, he was a carpenter, who loved working with his hands. Gene was well known for his workmanship and took great pride in everything he created.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 28, 2021, from the Magoffin County Funeral Home with William Paul Perkins officiating. Burial followed in the Gardner Cemetery at Lick Branch, Kentucky.
