OVL Playoffs: Litteral earns win on mound in Henderson’s victory

HENDERSON — Magoffin County High School graduate Lucas Litteral earned the win on the mound as Henderson shut out visiting Muhlenberg County 2-0 at Park Field in the opening round of the Ohio Valley League Playoffs on Friday, July 21.

A late addition to Henderson’s roster for the 2023 Ohio Valley League season, Litteral pitched two and one-third innings, holding Muhlenberg County hitless while registering five strikeouts.

Litteral is poised to pitch for Western Kentucky University in the 2024 college baseball season.

In addition to Litteral, hurlers Brandon Hunsaker, Logan Haslam and Adam Weihe aided Henderson on the hill during the triumph over Muhlenberg County. Haslam recorded the last six outs to secure the save.

Noah Waltz took the loss on the mound for the Stallions. Waltz allowed one run on six hits over six innings, tallying three strikeouts.

Henderson outhit Muhlenberg County 7-2. The Flash overcame one error in the field to post the shutout win.

Logan Lacey led Henderson at the plate, delivering two hits in four at-bats. Lacey, who drove in both of Henderson’s runs, homered for the Flash in the eighth inning.

Chipping in at the plate for Henderson, Luke Scales, Collin Helms, Nathan Brewer, Caleb Niehaus and Crawford Courville added one hit apiece.

Henderson is among the top teams in the Ohio Valley League.
