Royal Thomas Carty, Sr.

Royal Thomas Carty, Sr., age 76 of Patton Branch, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024 at his home. He was born June 21, 1947 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Hobert and Elsie Howard Carty.

Survived by his wife, Brenda Sparks Carty, four sons, Royal Thomas (Lora) Carty, Jr., of Chalmers, Indiana, Daniel Ray (Maggie) Carty of Jackson, Kentucky, David Eugene Carty of Evans, West Virginia, Samuel Dale Carty of Salyersville, Kentucky, four daughters, Tammy Lynn (Douglas) Perkins of White Oak, Kentucky, Connie Lea (Anthony) Whitaker of Evans, West Virginia, Tina Margaret (Timmy) Hale of Salyersville, Kentucky, April Ann (Cheyenne) Allen of Wheatfield, Indiana, three brothers, Herbert Carty of Salyersville, Kentucky, Aaron Carty of Indiana, Walter Carty of Salyersville, Kentucky, three sisters, Betty Lou Whitaker, Phyllis Ann Whitaker, and Barbara Sue (Russel) Dingus all of Salyersville, Kentucky, seventeen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, three brothers, Hubert Carty, John Carty, Edsel Ford Carty, and one great-grandson, Everett Dale Allen.

Royal ministered for over forty years and Pastor of the Calvary United Baptist Church.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from the New Beginnings Church with Brother Alvin Allen and Brother James Rowe officiating. Burial followed in the Carty Family Cemetery at Patton Branch, Salyersville, Kentucky.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
