LEXINGTON, Ky. – There are few things easier and more impactful than donating blood. Kentucky Blood Center is making it even easier to save local lives by hosting an upcoming blood drive in your community.
Giving blood takes about 45 minutes to an hour from registration to refreshment and can save up to three local lives. The collection process only takes approximately 10 minutes.
Donors who give blood at this drive will receive a KBC “throwback” item as a “thank you” for their time.

Donations at KBC directly benefit local lives at more than 70 Kentucky hospitals.
Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. Sixteen-year-old donors must have a signed parental permission slip, which can be found at kybloodcenter.org.
