SAND BOTTOM – Two people were flown out after an ATV wreck on Booger Hill on Monday.
At 2:23 p.m. emergency crews were called to an ATV wreck in the Sand Bottom Area of KY Rt. 7 on April 13.
Magoffin County Rescue Squad Captain Dewey Marshall told the Independent the ATV was coming down the hill when they lost control, overturning into a ditch.
The man and woman who were on the ATV were both flown out, with a landing zone set up at South Magoffin Elementary. The female had complained of injuries to her shoulder and pelvis, and the male of shoulder and stomach pain. Marshall said he’s not heard about the status of their injuries at press time.
The third passenger of the ATV – a baby colt – was reportedly the cause of the wreck, though it is believed to be fine after the crash, Marshall said. The colt was already removed from the scene of the wreck before rescue crews arrived.
The Magoffin County Rescue Squad, Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office and the ambulance service responded to the scene, with District 3 Fire Department setting up the landing zone.
