PAINTSVILLE – Two Salyersville women were indicted in Johnson County in connection with stolen money from World Finance customers’ loan accounts.
According to the indictments issued on February 16 in Johnson County Circuit Court, Bailey Burke, 33, of Painters Lick, Salyersville, and Stephanie Saylor, 45, of Jeff Prater Cemetery Road, Salyersville, were both charged with three counts of theft by unlawful taking, over $1,000, complicity (Class D felonies).
From on or about January 1, 2020, through October 8, 2021, the two allegedly took or exercised control over loan accounts owned by two different people on three different occasions, with a total of $4,727.55 reportedly stolen from the loan accounts.
Burke and Saylor were both arrested on February 17 and taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, where they were released a few hours later on a $5,000 bond each.
Both the defendants are scheduled to be arraigned on March 4 at 10 a.m. in Johnson County Circuit Court.
