Saturday, September 19, 2026, was the eighth-annual Walnut Festival, hosted by Royalton Community Council. The Council is made up of members and volunteers from the Royalton area.
RCC is dedicated to providing education, arts and humanities, and social events for the area. They strive to provide free activities and events through the year for the community.
The DAV began the opening ceremonies at 11:30 with a prayer and the National Anthem was sung by Brooklyn Shepherd.
The entertainment was kicked off by our very own home boy, and favorite weather man, Jimmy Neil Caldwell. He emceed the entire event and, as always, did a wonderful job! Thanks to Jimmy Neil, you were great!
The entertainment began at 11:45, however, there was a delay due to an instrument malfunction. To the rescue came local musician Dylan Blanton by loaning an instrument to the out- of- town band. Musical entertainment ended about 6:00 p.m. In addition to the entertainment, there was a car show, games for the kids, face painting, bouncy houses, and a train ride. There were also many vendors and great food trucks.
Thanks to everyone who sponsored, donated, attended, supported, or volunteered to make this event possible!!
