SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County edged East Ridge 6-5 in a high school softball regular season finale on Friday, May 15.
After registering the win, Magoffin County improved to 12-10.
Karissa Keeton pitched a complete game for Magoffin County and earned the win on the mound. Keeton recorded six strikeouts. The Magoffin County pitcher held East Ridge to five runs on eight hits.
Savannah Baldridge pitched for East Ridge and took the loss in the circle. Baldridge recorded 11 strikeouts.
Several players contributed to Magoffin County’s win.
Magoffin County scored six runs on seven hits. Kaisee Harvey (two hits, two RBIs), Macy Williams (two hits), Kelsey Slone (one hit, two RBIs), Finley Rudd (one hit, one RBI) and Bella Trusty (one hit, one RBI) were each productive in Magoffin County’s lineup. Harvey doubled twice while Williams tripled and Slone homered. Supplying another extra-base, Rudd connected for a double of her own.
Kylie Swiney paced East Ridge at the plate, connecting for two hits and driving in one run. Swiney doubled for the Lady Warriors.
Magoffin County and East Ridge met for the first time in over one year.
