SALYERSVILLE — Junior Brayden Bailey and senior Isaac Howard combined to lead Magoffin County offensively in the 2026 high school baseball season.
Both Bailey and Howard batted over .300 for the Hornets.
Bailey paced Magoffin County at the plate, batting .348 with 23 hits, 7 doubles and 22 RBIs. Bailey will be carrying momentum into the 2027 high school baseball season.
Howard ranked as Magoffin County’s second-leading hitter, batting .305 with 18 hits, 6 doubles and 16 RBIs.
The additional players who produced offensively for Magoffin County in the 2026 high school baseball season included Mason Peck, Aden Montgomery, Evan Reed, Michael Trusty, Aiden Carty, Chance Risner, Brayden Carroll, Gavin Arnett, Parker Bowling, Brody Emory and Hunter Arnett.
Magoffin County is a team on the rise. A longtime member of both the 57th District and the 15th Region, Magoffin County, under the direction of Coach Gabe Burchell, showed much improvement in the 2026 high school baseball season. The Hornets reached double digits in wins in May. Magoffin County compiled a 10-14 record in the 2026 high school baseball season. The Hornets put together a five-game winning streak during the first half of the 2026 high school baseball season, which opened in March.
Along with Bailey, several other experienced players are due back on the field for Magoffin County in the 2027 high school baseball season.
