Charles Edward Patton, 87, of Carrollton, KY, died on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at the Baptist Health La Grange in La Grange, KY.
He was born on August 11, 1934, in Salyersville, Magoffin County, KY, and grew up in Burning Fork, KY, the son of the late Kellie Patton and Dessie Fletcher Patton. Charles was a 1952 Magoffin County High School Graduate and had formerly worked for Dow Corning Chemical Company in Carrollton as an Industrial Mechanic retiring in 1992. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carrollton, the Greenville Masonic Lodge # 655 F & A.M. in Caney, KY, and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Covington, 32nd Degree.
Charles will be missed by his wife, Wanda Fern Lykins Patton of Carrollton, KY, his son, Douglas Edward (Cheryl) Patton of Madison, IN, a daughter, Rebecca P. (Barry) Smith of Perry Park, KY, a sister, Carrie Swears of Detroit, MI, two grandchildren, Elizabeth Patton (Andy) Auxier of Madison, IN, and Emily Patton of Madison, IN, and two great grandchildren, Eleanor and Ameila Auxier of Madison, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Paul Patton, Franklin Patton, Clifton Patton, and James H. Patton, two sisters, Opal Patrick and Velma Hackworth.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Carrollton with the Rev. Chris White officiating the service. Burial took place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the First Baptist Church of Carrollton Youth in care of the funeral home.
