Charles Poe age 85 of Oil Springs, Kentucky passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Highlands ARH Regional Hospital in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He was born April 28, 1935 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Ed and Ethel Mae Helton Poe. Survivors include his wife, Loretta Salyer Poe, two daughters, Teresa Ann Poe, Connie (Darren) Poe Rudd, both of Salyersville, Kentucky, two brothers, Kenneth Poe, Ronald Poe, both of Salyersville, Kentucky, one sister, Janice Conley of Newport, Kentucky, two grandsons, Kyle Alexander (Hillary) Rudd, Austin Tanner (Chyanne) Rudd, three great grandchildren, Kameron Lee Rudd, Kristina Danielle Rudd, Harper Denise Rudd, step granddaughters, Jaime Blanton, Nikki Blanton, three step great grandsons, Aaron Moore, Peyton Moore, Cameron Moore, and Jaxon Moore.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his first wife, Drusilla Watson Poe, one son, Alvin Ray Poe, two brothers, James Douglas “JD” Poe, Bobby Dean Poe, three sisters, Shelvie Jo Crace, Blenda Jenkins, Peggy Poe, and one grandson, Ethan Drew Baldwin.
A private funeral service for immediate family was held Sunday, November 29, 2020 from the Burning Springs United Baptist Church with John Blanton, Marcus Caudill, Freddy Salyer, and Billy Mullins, officiating. Burial followed in the Crace Cemetery at Cripple Creek, Kentucky.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
