Helen Roark Conley age 76 of Paintsville, KY formally of Salyersville, KY passed away Thursday March 10th, 2022 at Highlands ARH Hospital in Prestonsburg, KY after an extended illness.
Helen was born June 16th, 1945 in Magoffin County, KY to the late Hayden and Delphia Stephens Roark.
In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Conley (May 10th, 2020). Brothers Billy Roark, Donald Roark, Calvin Roark, and two infant brothers. And a sister Renella Roark.
She is survived by her daughter Vonetta (Scott) Hazlette, two grandsons Robert Scott Hazlette and Phillip Andrew Hazlette. A brother Kernie Roark. And three sisters, Nevada Frasure, Nebraska Howard, and Darlene Purvis. Several nieces and nephews also survive. And her dog Max whom she loved very much.
Helen and her husband Robert lived in Maysville, KY on a dairy farm where she made her living as a homemaker. After living several years in Maysville, they moved back home to Salyersville. In 1996, they moved to Paintsville to be closer to their daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons. Helen and Robert lived in Paintsville until the time of their deaths.
Helen enjoyed gardening and working in flowers, and taking care of her grandsons whom she loved very much.
Sometimes you never knew what Helen was up to. Sometimes, you could find her on top of the roof or outside chopping down a tree. Recently, she spent most of her time taking care of her “little boy” Max, that became her companion for the past two years after her husband died in 2020 from Alzheimer’s.
Graveside services were conducted Monday, March 14, 2022 from the Patrick-Lovely cemetery at Johnson Fork, Kentucky with Denzel Arnett officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
