Honor Flight seeking WWII, Korean War vets

KENTUCKY – The following was forwarded to the SI from Magoffin County Senior Citizens Director Marlene Howard to distribute to the public. All WWII and Korean War Veterans interested in taking the Honor Flight to Washington DC are encouraged to apply.

Good Afternoon,

We are reaching out requesting your assistance to help another organization that is supported through the Good Works Program, the Honor Flight of the Bluegrass. As nonprofits, many of you have wide reaches throughout your community and have an impact on many lives. The Honor Flights are in search of WWII and Korean War Veterans for their 2021 trip to Washington DC. This is the first Honor Flight since COVID-19 halted the program. It has been two years since the last flight and they have lost 35 WWII veterans since then. October 20th, 2021 is the flight date and if you know of anyone who may qualify or if you are able to provide any assistance finding individuals in your community, it would be greatly appreciated.

For WWII Veterans, please call Jeff Thoke directly at, 502-645-5421.

For Korean War Veterans, please fill out an application on their website at https://www.honorflightbluegrass.org/ or through Honor Flight Kentucky on their website, https://honorflightky.org/.

If you have any additional questions, please email Jeff Thoke at jthoke@yahoo.com .

Thanks!
