SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is ranked fifth in the Preseason 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Top 10.
The 15th Region Basketball Coaches Association released the preseason poll.
The Hornets are ranked ahead of Lawrence County, Shelby Valley, Betsy Layne, Johnson Central and Paintsville.
Magoffin County is listed behind Floyd Central, Pike County Central, Martin County and Pikeville.
Following a loss in overtime to Paintsville in the 57th District Boys’ Basketball Tournament, Magoffin County exited the 2022-23 season 16-11.
Martin County is the reigning 15th Region boys’ basketball champion. After making an appearance in the KHSAA Boys’ Sweet 16 State Basketball Tournament, Martin County exited the 2022-23 season 24-11.
The 2023-24 boys’ high school basketball season will tip off in late-November.
