SALYERSVILLE – Magoffin County is ranked seventh in The Cats’ Pause 2020-21 Kentucky Basketball Yearbook Preseason 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Poll.
The Hornets are listed ahead of Betsy Layne (8), Belfry (9) and East Ridge (10).
Magoffin County is listed behind Shelby Valley (6), Lawrence County (5), Pikeville (4), Paintsville (3), Johnson Central (2) and reigning champion Martin County (1).
Under the direction of head coach Scott Castle, Magoffin County is slated to resume preseason practice later in the month.
The Hornets’ 2020-21 schedule includes games versus Pike County Central, Morgan County, Jenkins, Floyd Central, Johnson Central, East Ridge, Prestonsburg, Paintsville, Belfry, Shelby Valley, Martin County, Letcher County Central and Pikeville.
Magoffin County ended the 2019-20 season 15-15 following a loss to host Martin County in the 57th District Boys’ Basketball Tournament Semifinals.
