SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is scheduled to host Harlan County for a scrimmage in the 2024 high school football preseason.
The Hornets are slated to host the Black Bears for a scrimmage at 6 p.m. on Aug. 10, 2024.
Magoffin County competes in Class 3A, District 8. After making an appearance in the Class 3A State Playoffs, Magoffin County exited the 2023 high school football season 4-7. Head coach John DeRossett guides the Hornets.
Harlan County competes in Class 5A, District 8. After making an appearance in the Class 5A State Playoffs, Harlan County exited the 2023 high school football season 1-10. Following the resignation of Amos McCreary, Jacob Saylor is set to guide Harlan County in his first season as the Black Bears’ head coach.
Magoffin County will begin its offseason workouts in January. The Hornets’ 2024 schedule will be finalized and released at a later time.
