SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is scheduled to host Martin County for its final preseason game on Friday, Aug. 14.
Kickoff for the Magoffin County-Martin County scrimmage is slated for 7:30 p.m.
Magoffin County and Martin County did not meet during the 2025 high school football season. However, Magoffin County and Martin County are longtime rivals. Familiar foes, Magoffin County and Martin County share multiple common opponents each season.
The Hornets compete in Class 3A, District 8. The additional members of Class 3A, District 8 are Estill County, Lawrence County, Letcher County Central and Powell County.
Magoffin County is scheduled to host Rowan County for its opening game in the 2026 high school football season on Friday, Aug. 21. Rowan County (1-9) competes in Class 4A, District 6.
The Cardinals compete in Class 2A, District 7. The additional members of Class 2A, District 7 are Floyd Central, Knott County Central, Leslie County and Prestonsburg.
Martin County is scheduled to visit Lawrence County for its opening game in the 2026 high school football season on Friday, Aug. 21. Lawrence County (11-2) is the reigning Class 3A, District 8 champion.
Magoffin County is due to visit Knott County Central for its first scrimmage in the high school football preseason on Friday, Aug. 7.
