Kenny Ray Minix

Kenny Ray Minix age 57 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Monday, December 07, 2020 from the Southern Ohio Medical Hospice Center in West Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born October 24, 1963 in West Liberty, Kentucky to the late Earnest James “Red” Minix and Beverly Harris Minix who survives. Survivors also include his wife, Phyllis Lane Aderholt Minix, one son, Kenny James Minix of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, one daughter, Kennelya Rae Minix of Lexington, Kentucky, one brother, Earnest James “EJ” Minix of Salyersville, Kentucky, four sisters, Vickie Rose (Jeff) Hall of Lakeland, Florida, Lessie Mae Minix of Salyersville, Kentucky, Stephanie Nichole (Scottie) Prater of Salyersville, Kentucky, Rosemary (Shane) Boyd of Van Lear, Kentucky, one grandson, Jason Ryder Minix, with a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Kenny is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bryce “Bud” and Mae Minix, maternal grandparents, Leonard Paul and Flora Mae Button Harris.

Kenny made his living, and retired from the following trades, Union Millwrights, Iron Worker and a truck driver. He was a brother in the Salyersville Masonic Lodge #769 and a Shriner El Haso and belonged to the Moose Lodge in Virginia.

He was married to the love of his life, Phyllis for twenty years. Kenny was a loving, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. Kenny will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service for Kenny, will be conducted at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
