SALYERSVILLE — Holding off a late rally, Magoffin County shut out visiting June Buchanan 3-0 in a high school volleyball match on Thursday, Sept. 22.
Magoffin County defeated June Buchanan 25-13, 25-20, 28-26.
The Lady Hornets showed improvement throughout the high school volleyball match.
Numerous players contributed to Magoffin County’s win, including Allie Rodriguez (1 kill, 4 digs), McKenzie Young (3 kills, 1 block, 7 digs, 2 service aces), Alison Cantrell (3 kills, 1 block, 5 digs), Abby Barnett (5 digs), Makenna Jordan (5 kills, 2 assists, 11 digs, 1 service ace), Avery Preston (10 assists, 4 digs, 6 service aces), Alyssa Torices (7 kills, 1 block, 8 digs, 3 service aces), Carlee Adams (1 assist, 19 digs), Mackenzie Elkins (2 kills, 5 assists, 6 digs, 2 service aces) and Daylin Patrick (2 assists).
Makayla Cole (1 block), Audrey Turner (1 kill), Anna Potter (6 kills, 6 digs, 1 service ace), Riley Likens (2 kills, 1 block, 1 assist, 3 digs, 2 service aces), Macey Watts (1 kill, 5 digs, 1 service ace), Addison Clark (1 kill, 5 assists, 2 digs, 1 service ace), Ashley Moore (1 kill, 1 dig) and Allyson Slone (2 kills, 2 blocks, 6 assists, 5 digs, 4 service aces) each produced for June Buchanan in the match.
Magoffin County is scheduled to visit June Buchanan for a late-season match on Monday, Oct. 10.
The Lady Hornets are slated to compete in the 57th District Volleyball Tournament in mid-October.
